Kira, originally started life in 1927 and has changed names over the past from Yoshida Machinery to Mikawa Nainenki Kojko in 1944 to Kira Machinery Co., Ltd in 1957. Under the inspired leadership of Kenji Otake who is currently still the residing president Kira has been a big name in over 30 countries for large scall machining centers, drilling machines and other machines. In 1973 Kira introduced its first NC machine to the market, which was a resounding success. in 94' all of Kira's various entities became one under the name of the 'Kira Corporation' and in 1995 Kira America was started. In 2002 Kira started to make twin spindle VMC's.

Kira Machine Tool range includes:

  • VMC series (vertical machining centres).
  • HMC series (horizontal milling machines).
  • CNC Drill presses
  • 4 Station Dial Machines

Kira since there induction to CNC's for their various range of Machine Tools have primarily used Fanuc CNC controls for their machine tools.
